OpenVPN-Rig

OpenVPN-Rig is an open source OpenVPN client interface for use with Sailfish OS phones, such as the Jolla phone. It allows basic configuration of an OpenVPN client, such as setting up the keys and certificates, setting compression and so on. The actual OpenVPN connection functionality is provided by the OpenVPN console application which is invoked by the front end transparently.

The application has been submitted to the Jolla Store, but I'm not really expecting it to be accepted, since it requires setuid privileges, which are explicitly not allowed. But we'll see. If Jolla don't accept it, I'll likely release it through OpenRepos.

In the meantime, you can download the Source code for the project under a BSD licence.

OpenVPN-Rig is a small application for configuration and controlling an OpenVPN client connection from a Sailfish OS phone. I've just submitted it for QA to the Jolla Store. It's the first time I've submitted an app so this is all very new, but to be honest I'm not expecting it to get through. The app violates one of the store's requirements that it not need setuid permissions. Still you never know, and I thought I'd give it a try anyway. There's also now an OpenVPN-Rig page with some more info and screenshots.
