Programs ported to RISC OS

This page contains a number of downloadable programs that are ports of programs to RISC OS from other platforms, or have been converted to 32-bit. They are all open source programs and I've included the sourcecode for compilation on RISC OS where appropriate. All of these programs are Iyonix compatible.

If you have any queries, bug reports or problems with any of them, please feel free to e-mail me. The original authors and RISC OS library developers (i.e. not me) deserve all credit for the quality of these programs.

armTeX armTeX

LaTeX is a document preparation system ideally suited for typesetting mathematical and scientific documents. One of the ports of LaTeX for RISC OS is called armTeX, which I've recompiled to be 26/32-bit neutral to work with Iyonix machines. Also available is a recompiled version of DVIview which will also work on the Iyonix. You can download all of these by clicking on the white button to the left.

VNCserver

Version 0.08 (14 Jan 2006) - 65k - screenshot.

VNCserver is a 32-bit version of Henrik Bjerregaard Pedersen's GPL VNC server module, for use on the Iyonix, with source included. It allows the Iyonix desktop to be used remotely from another machine across a network, using a VNC client such as ViNCe. The original 26-bit version can be found on Henrik's website.

Webalizer

Webalizer

Version 2.01 (14 Jan 2006) - 400k - screenshot.

The Webalizer is a GPL-licensed web log analysis program written by Bradford L. Barrett. According to its website, "The Webalizer is a fast, free web server log file analysis program. It produces highly detailed, easily configurable usage reports in HTML format, for viewing with a standard web browser". Download either the binary version (400k) for RISC OS or the source version (863k) from which you can compile the binary version.

OpenTTD

Version 0.4.1 (13 Nov 2005) - 2040k - screenshot.

This is a RISC OS port of the GPL-licensed OpenTTD game, which is itself a clone of the commercial Transport Tycoon Deluxe. In order to use it, you will need data files from the original commercial game. Download either the binary version (2040k) for RISC OS or the source version (5264k) from which you can compile the binary version.

Libwww

Libwww

Version 5.4.0 (09 Sep 2004) - 1466k.

This is a version of the W3C Libwww web API library. The W3C describes it as "a highly modular, general-purpose client side Web API written in C... well suited for both small and large applications, like browser/editors, robots, batch tools, etc." There are also some useful example applications included. The versions here have been set up or compiled for RISC OS. Download either the binary version (1466k) which includes header files and can be linked against, or the source version (899k) from which you can compile the binary version.

XMLRPCC

Version 0.9.9 (09 Sep 2004) - 316k.

This is a version of the XML-RPC-C API library, which allows you to make XML-RPC calls via the 'net. The XML-RPC-C website states that "XML-RPC is a quick-and-easy way to make procedure calls over the Internet. It converts the procedure call into XML document, sends it to a remote server using HTTP, and gets back the response as XML. This library provides a modular implementation of XML-RPC for C and C++." The versions here have been set up or compiled for RISC OS. Download either the binary version (316k) which includes header files and can be linked against, or the source version (176k) from which you can compile the binary version. You'll also need libwww (above) to use it.
